Microbiological quality refers to the presence of organisms that cannot be seen by the naked eye. Many of these microbes are associated with the transmission of infectious waterborne diseases such as gastroenteritis.

Physical quality mainly affects the aesthetic quality (taste, odour and appearance) of water.

Chemical quality – in tap water, it is required to test for Chlorine residuals as an indicator of disinfection levels.

Test It LAB gives back by monitoring tap water quality in these Bloemfontein neighbourhoods on a monthly basis:

TERMS OF USE

Compliance is calculated using an in-house developed weighted scoring matrix against the minimum requirements. Results are representative of a grab sample from one tap in the neighbourhood at a specific point in time as indicated on the individual CoA’s.

Water quality data provided is for informational purposes only and to present an overview of the general quality of tap water in the neighbourhood.

Information provided on these pages should not be extrapolated directly to residences or taps in- or outside the neighbourhood.

If you want specific results with regards to water quality at your house or business, you should have the water sampled and tested by an accredited laboratory.

Results are compared to the South African Drinking Water Standard, SANS241:2015 Table 1 minimum requirements.
